"I'm In A Dark Room": Missing Michigan Woman Who Sent Mysterious Messages To Family Has Been Found
GRAND RAPIDS, MI — The missing Michigan woman who sent a series of text messages to her family that she was in a “dark room” and “scared" has been found and reunited with her family, according to police.
Jasmin Cheyenne Brickey, 20, was last seen around 11 P.M. Sunday in Grand Rapids.
Jasmin's mother, Barbara Brickey, appealed to family and friends on social media:
"Ok all friends and family please help Jasmin has been kidnapped she is in a dark room somewhere she don't know where. THIS IS NOT A JOKE," she wrote on Facebook.
“The last thing she [got] out was [that] she was in a dark room [that] she thinks is a basement and she is scared,” her mom wrote.
Police said that Brickey, who was described as being six foot one and weighing approximately 190 pounds, was last seen wearing dark blue jeans with holes in the thighs, black sandals, a white shirt and a black hooded sweatshirt.
Her mom continued to share posts on Facebook pleading for information Tuesday about her daughter’s disappearance. “If it was your child you would be posting til your fingers bleed,” she wrote at one point.
Two days after her disappearance, the elder Brickey posted an update on Facebook announcing that her daughter had been located. "She is OK," she wrote.
The Grand Rapids Police Department posted an update: "Jasmin Brickey was located safe and sound and is reunited with his [sic] family. Thank you for your assistance."
The circumstances surrounding her disappearance have not been revealed.
