DADE CITY, FL — Three women have been arrested in Florida after leading police on a high-speed chase throughout Pasco County.

The incident allegedly began when someone reported seeing the suspects “standing in the nude putting on suntan lotion” at a highway rest area.

Cecilia Eunique Young, 19; Jeniyah McLeod, 19; and Oasis Shakira McLeod, 18; are currently in custody and now face numerous charges, including multiple felonies.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that following a 911 call on Wednesday morning, Trooper Danielle Poulin was dispatched to investigate suspicious persons at a rest stop along Interstate 75.

Upon arriving, Poulin alleges she saw the three suspects standing naked in plain view of the public. She said the women told her they had just showered and were “air drying.”

As the trooper was gathering information, the three suspects reportedly ran into a 2009 Nissan Sentra and sped off on the highway. A brief chase ensued from there, with authorities tracking the suspects’ vehicle to a convenience-store parking lot.

Responders then discovered the Nissan empty. As the three women exited the store and got back into the vehicle, Trooper Ronald Paulin attempted to arrest one of the passengers. The driver, Oasis Shakira McLeod, then allegedly tried to run the trooper down with her car.

As Paulin jumped out of the way, the other passenger reportedly emerged with a metal bat and headed straight for her. Another responder, Sergeant Dennis Rich, rammed his patrol car into the Nissan to stop it, but the suspects were able to get back on the highway and lead authorities on another high-speed pursuit.

The chase continued into Dade City, where local law enforcement used stop sticks to deflate the Nissan’s tires. As officers approached, the three suspects reportedly locked arms and actively resisted arrest. After breaking the Nissan’s windows, police tasered the women and took them into custody.

The McLeod sisters and their friend Cecilia have been charged with fleeing to elude, resisting arrest, aggravated assault, indecent exposure, lewd behavior, and marijuana possession.
