PORTERVILLE, CA — Four months after Charles Manson died, the notorious cult leader and mass murder mastermind was laid to rest with an open-casket funeral, followed immediately by cremation.

Ever since the 83-year-old Manson succumbed to “megacolon” on November 19, 2017, various parties have been fighting over who had the rights to his remains. While lawyers argued their clients’ cases, Manson’s body remained on ice until a judge finally granted control to Jason Freeman, the supposed grandson of the wild-eyed 1960s counter-culture boogeyman.

According to TMZ, Manson’s body had decomposed badly over the four months and needed some real mortician magic to make it presentable.

The site reports that about 30 visitors attended the simple service and viewed the body, including his most recent fiancée, Afton “Star” Burton, and Sandra Good, a former member of the homicidal hippie cabal, the Manson Family.

TMZ further states that after the viewing, Manson’s body was cremated and someone then attempted to scatter the ashes along a nearby creek.

However, windy weather conditions reportedly blew Manson’s cremains back onto the mourners. So, right up until the very end, Charlie apparently kept messing with people.
