UPDATE (JULY 5, 2016):

Gypsy Blancharde has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. As part of a deal that will let her avoid trial, she has agreed to serve ten years. She will be required to serve at least 85 percent of her sentence before she will be eligible for parole.

Attorney Mike Stanfield told reporters that Blancharde had been abused by her mother. He also said, "It's the best outcome for her, the state of Missouri and everyone involved."

Nicholas Godejohn will face trial in November for first-degree murder.

ORIGINAL STORY:

It was horrifying Facebook posts that initially led authorities to the nondescript home in Missouri.

When they arrived on the scene, authorities found 48-year-old Clauddinnea "Dee Dee" Blancharde's dead body. Her supposedly wheelchair-bound daughter, Gypsy Blancharde (who everyone thought suffered from leukemia and muscular dystrophy) was missing. Now, authorities say her disability may have been, well, nothing but a fraud -- that Blancharde (whose age is anywhere between 19 and 23) is, in fact, able to walk.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott addressed the bizarre turns and said, "Things are not always what they appear." It's possible the family has been running a longtime fraudulent financial scheme. Thousands of dollars were also reportedly taken from Dee Dee's safe when she was killed.

Within 24 hours of officers finding her mom's body, investigators tracked Gypsy down across state lines in Wisconsin with her boyfriend, 26-year-old Nicholas Godejohn. Both have been charged with first-degree murder, with bonds set at $1 million.

On the day of Dee Dee's death, on a Facebook account she shared with daughter Gypsy, someone mysteriously posted, "That Bit*ch is Dead!" Then, about 60 minutes later, another shocking update appeared:

"I f---en SLASHED THAT FAT PIG AND RAPED HER SWEET INNOCENT DAUGHTER… HER SCREAM WAS SOOOO F---EN LOUD LOL."

One of the Facebook updates that appeared on Dee Dee and Gypsy's shared page.

The NY Daily News says that friends, after reading those posts, headed to the women's house to check on them. When there was no response, police were called. Upon arriving, according to the Springfield News-Leader, authorities found Dee Dee dead from an attack of a "violent nature."

Charlie Goldammer told WREX that his step-son, Nicholas Godejohn, had been dating Gypsy online, and that he'd headed to Missouri to pick up Gypsy and bring her back to Wisconsin with him. Goldammer also added that his step-son "wouldn't hurt a fly."

A motive hasn't been revealed at this point, but police believe this was a planned, "targeted" event. KSDK says the couple allegedly cleaned the blood up with baby wipes and then took a cab from the house. Gypsy was also seen on tape in disguises ... and walking.

An autopsy was performed on Dee-Dee yesterday, but her cause of death hasn't been released yet. Stay tuned.
