MISHAWAKA, IN — A 16-year-old high school football player has been arrested in connection with the killing of his 17-year-old classmate.

Police found Breana Rouhselang's body in a dumpster behind a restaurant near her home in Mishawaka on Sunday, according to the The Associated Press. She was six months pregnant, WNDU-TV reported. Both teens attended Mishawaka High School.

Police have arrested Aaron Trejo, and the teen is being held on a preliminary murder charge, the St. Joseph County prosecutor's office told the AP. Trejo will be tried as an adult.

Rouhselang was last seen alive at her home at around midnight on Saturday. Fox 59 reported that the teen’s family called police at around 4:30 A.M. Sunday after they "got the feeling that something wasn't right," Lieutenant Alex Arendt of the St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit said.

Trejo is reportedly a member of the Mishawaka High School football team. Rouhselang was a team manager, according to IndyStar. Her family shared that she had also been a softball coach and a cheerleader at school.

The school district in Mishawaka has issued a statement saying that administrators were working with authorities in investigating the "terrible tragedy" and that grief counselors would be made available at Mishawaka High School.

Police have not yet released information about the relationship between the teens. The investigation continues.
