MANSFIELD, OH — An Ohio woman ended up in the slammer after witnesses say she inappropriately touched an Easter Bunny at a local mall.

Ladonna Hughett, 54, appeared intoxicated when she took her turn with the bunny at Richland Carrousel Park Shopping Center on Saturday.

A witness recorded footage of Hughett grinding in the Easter Bunny’s lap, touching the person in the rabbit costume, and making lewd comments in front of the children waiting to have their picture taken, according to WJW-TV.

She engaged in some “lewd acts,” according to Mansfield Police Assistant Chief Keith Porch.

At some point, a witness called police. Officers found Hughett riding on the carousel and noticed that she had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and smelled of alcohol.

Assistant Police Chief Keith Porch said, “I’ve never heard of somebody performing those type of acts on the Easter Bunny, and you know obviously the environment at the Carrousel Park is family-oriented, and obviously we wouldn’t recommend anybody intoxicated to go there.”

Hughett was arrested and charged with public drunkenness. She was released after spending 8 hours in the Richland County Jail.
